Questions we get at the counter

If the answer you need is not here, message the team on WhatsApp or call the Ennis store. A person will answer.

Products, availability and pricing

Is the product I am looking for in stock?

Stock moves quickly and it differs between the Ennis and Ennistymon stores, so we do not publish stock counts online. Send us the item you are looking for on WhatsApp, or call the store, and the team will tell you what is on the shelf or what we can order in for you.

How do I find out how much something costs?

We do not display product prices on this website, because pricing and availability change with stock. Message us on WhatsApp or call the store with the item you have in mind and we will confirm the current price and the options available to you.

Can I buy anything on this website?

No. This website is here to show what Tech Depot does and to put you in touch with the team. There is no online checkout and no payment is taken on this site. Every purchase is made in store at the counter, and we can hold an item aside once you have confirmed it with us on WhatsApp or by phone.

Can I reserve something before I drive over?

Tell us what you are looking for on WhatsApp or by phone and the team will check the shelf in Ennis and Ennistymon. If it is there and you want it, let us know and it can be put aside with your name on it.

Can you order in something you do not have in stock?

For most technology, yes. Send us the item or the model and we will come back with what we can get and how long it takes. Nothing is ordered without your say so.

What should I send when asking about a product?

The clearest things are the name or model, a photo of the label or the item, and what you need it to do. If you are not sure, describe the job it has to do and we will suggest options.

Repairs and assessments

Do I need to book before bringing a device in?

You can walk in during opening hours, or send us the details on WhatsApp first. A repair enquiry tells us what is coming in, and we confirm the next step with you before anything is agreed.

Which devices do you repair?

Laptops, desktop computers, MacBooks and iMacs, smartphones, tablets and printers. We also handle software faults, data recovery, antivirus work, performance issues, upgrades and system failures.

How does repair pricing work?

Repairs are assessed before they are agreed, so you get a clear picture of the fault and the options first. Send the device type and a description of the fault on WhatsApp and the team will talk you through it. Work is only carried out once you are happy to proceed.

How long will a repair take?

It depends on the fault and on parts, so we confirm it once we have looked at the device rather than quoting a number in advance. For anything that needs a part ordered in, we will tell you that at the start.

Can you repair something without me leaving it with you?

For many software, network and printer issues, yes: remote support or a call out can solve it on site. Hardware faults generally need the device on our bench. Tell us what is happening and we will suggest the right route.

Will my data be safe while you have the device?

Your data is discussed with you before anything that could affect it, including reinstalls. Where a drive has failed, we talk to you about recovery rather than guessing.

Home IT, business IT and remote support

Do you visit homes and businesses?

Yes. When a job cannot be handled remotely or at the counter, we arrange a technician call out to your home or business. Give us the address, the kit involved and the fault and we will confirm a time with you.

Is remote support safe?

The session is started by you, on your own computer, using the remote support client, and you watch everything that happens. You can end the session at any time.

Do you build and look after websites?

Yes, web design for local businesses is part of what we offer, including the site itself and keeping it up to date afterwards. Message us about your business and we will talk it through.

Remote support

Can you help without me bringing the device in?

Yes. Remote support lets our technician view your screen with your permission and work on the issue directly. Get in touch on WhatsApp or by phone and we will talk you through setting it up.

Business IT

Do you support businesses as well as homes?

Yes. Home IT covers setup, device support, software help, performance troubleshooting and remote support. Business IT covers managed services, cloud computing, backup and recovery, support arrangements, networks and security, equipment repair and web design. Message us to discuss what your business needs.

Getting in touch

What is the quickest way to get an answer?

WhatsApp is the fastest route: the messages come to the team with your question already written out, and you can send photos of a device, a label or a screen. Phone is the next best option during opening hours.

Can I ask a question without buying anything?

Of course. Most people start with a question: which laptop suits them, whether a fault is worth repairing, or what a piece of kit should cost. Ask us and there is no obligation.

Still not sure?

Send the device type and the fault, and we will tell you what we think before you commit to anything.
